Mutism is an inability to speak, often caused by a speech disorder, trauma, or surgery. For mutants, such inability may also be caused by changes wrought by an avatar spirit (Razorback), Shapeshifting (for example, when Reinforce adopts a shape that cannot speak), or because their mutant ability makes it a horrible idea (Screech).
