Dastardly Daughter in her civilian clothes. By Rose Bunny using Artflow.AI
Dastardly Daughter (Pippa Minx Mischke) is a Winter term junior high student in Whateley[1]. While being undersized for her age, she can be very violent and competent, primarily using her devises for ambushes and surprise attacks[2].
She prefers being called Dastardly, and tries to come off as an incompetent would-be villain who is too incompetent to do anything really bad. The MCO actually think she might have a touch of diedrick's syndrome.
Coming from Liverpool, she is very proud of being a Scouser (Liverpool resident), and speaks with a very thick accent, punctuated by frequent local slang and curses that would make a sailor blush. She has a single mother, her father having left them when she was six years old to return to Germany. She and her mother are working poor, and due to her mother's odd hours working at a 24 hour grocery store, she is often alone and left to her own devices.[2]
Physical Description[]
The girl was even shorter than he was, with a cheerful smirk, red hair framing her face, while black hair hung over the shoulders of her purple jacket. She was wearing a dress as well, a red one that went halfway down her thighs. A battered old suitcase on wheels was close at her side, and a threadbare bookbag hung over one shoulder.[1]
Pippa is just under 5 feet tall, and has always been small for her age. Her clothes are almost entirely 2nd hand. Only her 'costume' of a long purple coat, red dress, tights boots, and a bakers boy hat, aren't clearly well worn. And even those were found after long hours spent in 2nd hand shops. Due to her size and looks, people who don't know her well usually think she's cute and harmless.
She also has a large fresh scar on her stomach from getting stabbed.[1]
Personality[]
Dastardly has several serious emotional issues. The primary one is not trusting most adults.
She has a knee jerk disdain for authority figures. Police and MCO, she'll listen to up to a point, since she's smart enough to want to avoid a prison cell. But teachers and anyone who can't arrest her, are seen, and treated as enemies until proven otherwise.[1]
She also refuses to ask for help and will take violent actions when she has been hurt by someone. With her genius intelligence[2], this is surprisingly effective. At ten years old, a bully broke her nose, a week later she burned down his apartment building. And when she and her best friend were attacked at a 'party' set up by a grooming gang, Dastardly who managed to get away, proceeded to use her new devisor powers to kill as many of her attackers and their friends as possible over a month long period.[2] She doesn't care if she looks like an idiot, and actually prefers people to consider her kind of useless as it lets her get away with more.
Something her mum said came back to her. The police hadn't done more than suspect her burning down the apartment because of her age. What if she made it impossible to believe she was dangerous?
She couldn't pull off cute and innocent. No one would believe that. What if she went the opposite way? So obviously cartoonish villainy that no one thought she was competent enough to be dangerous to anyone but herself?
“Dick Dastardly... a bad guy, but so bad at it, no one cared.” She let her mind wander a bit, thinking about the character and the name. “Dastardly, dastardly, dastardly. The Dastardly Daughter.”
Snickering, Pippa grinned. Looking in the mirror, she worked on the grin, making it a mischievous grin, she was clearly plotting something not good. But she was so cute, no one would think she was planning to commit murder, she was just going to steal some cookies, or put a tack on a teachers chair.
“Heh, heh, heh, heh,” she snickered, trying to get it just right.
Looking at the mirror, she grinned. “Hello world, I'm The Dastardly Daughter. Heh heh heh.”[2]
History[]
Dastardly Daughter killed eighteen people between November and December, and is still a top suspect in Liverpool.[2] Only the fact that the victims were members of a grooming gang, that was uncovered after she'd been kidnapped, stabbed in the stomach and rescued by a police officer and MCO agent, kept her from being officially charged. Instead she was quietly and quickly shipped off to Whateley as soon as she recovered, while the grooming gang scandal blew up.
Dastardly was almost a victim of the gang, escaping from the apartment in a drug and alcohol induced haze, while being forced to leave her best friend behind. Her powers that had been forming already, completely manifested, and she woke up in a basement tool room of an apartment building, having taken the lock apart while barely conscious. She proceeded to make herself a very basic weapon, and had to use it when two members of the grooming gang tried to kidnap her, the electrical blast killed both would-be kidnappers.
That and seeing her emotionally broken best friend a day later, set her on the road of revenge, and made her decide on her Dastardly Daughter persona.[2]
At Whateley she is still very willing to use non-lethal violence, and sees herself as a protector of her friends, standing up to Lancer when Calla was scared by her brother, and zapping Buster with a heavy duty devised tazer, when he was bullying Ewe.[1]
Powers[]
Devisor 3: she makes devises that have far more power than they should. Her first devise used four D-Cell batteries to electrocute an older teen an adult, leaving them smoking.[2]
Her devises aren't generally fancy, but they are effective.
- Zap Gloves: Red leather gloves that have inbuilt heaters and tasers. they have a basic metal framework inside the glove that act like brass knuckles.
- Napalm thrower: A crude devise trap. When activated it waits to be triggered, then it shoots out napalm from a barrel covering the nearest moving targets in flames.
- Spike thrower: A small and relatively light weapon that shoots pieces of cut rebar at high speed using a spring.
- Tracker Killer: Her most complicated devise so far. It has a basic phone mic, and is programmed for up to three voices. When it hears the voice, it will move on its legs to the target. Then it uses springs in its legs to throw itself at high speed at the target, usually breaking ribs or causing serious internal injuries, before the small engine blows itself up.
- Ball Bearing Bracelet: Similar to the spike thrower, but it's made to look like jewellery. It uses a spring and electrical reloading system to send out a ball bearing at high speeds. It has four settings, the lowest causes a nasty welt, the highest setting can crack skulls, it's powered by several AAA batteries.
Energizer 1: She is right on the edge of being a 2. Her endurance is a 2, but her strength is a 1.
