Doctor Avarice (Hansel Averton) is the supervillian version of a magpie. He's best known for not letting anything get in the way of acquiring something he wants, including reason if he sees a shiny, and at one time he did have the world's largest known hoard of power gems. He's far less well-known for paying his debts.[1]
It's worth noting that the Syndicate gave him opportunity to pay up before annulling his protection coverage, or referring his account for "debt collections".
He's in Atlantic City, NJ, when one of his caches is hit by Focus, White Diamond, Tech Head, and Tether (Reno, NV, 2001-10-20).
Powers[]
Unknown. However, it would be tactically stupid to assume he doesn't use one or more power gems in addition to various gadgets.
