Doctor Reaper, sometimes called Professor Reaper, is an A-list supervillain. He's known for attacking cities with the only goal of killing the largest possible number of people. He has been known to broadcast messages "regretting" the need for killing people, alleging that it is done for the sake or saving "the future of mankind."[1] However, general opinion is that he's fighting for a greater evil.[2]
Professor/Doctor Reaper is on Counterpoint's list of A players to get rid of when the New Olympians retake their proper place.[3]
Powers[]
He is considered one of the few high end, scientific geniuses in the field of superpower phenomena, along side with Dr. Amazing.[4]
Equipment and tactics[]
Reaper wears a very powerful armor fashioned after the image of the Grim Reaper. His most visible weapon is a black foldable scythe, built to make sure that no wound inflicted by it would heal. His armor is also capable of firing a number of different attacks, including his Eon Burst, which causes the target to rapidly decay.
Additionally, he keeps a number of backup cloned bodies with frequently updated memories; even if someone manages to actually kill him, a clone will take his place.
In the attack to Darwin, Australia, he initially used some sort of devise that kept motor vehicles from working. This not only hampered evacuation efforts, but also led a large death toll of its own, by causing the fall of several airplanes.
He followed up by teleporting to the city, along with his allies Gogg and Magogg and a large number of automated extermination robots. Those killed people in a variety of ways, from shredding blade-wheels to napalm flamethrowers to plain guns. If the city defenders manage to neutralize a large proportion of his robotic attacking force, he simply teleports a new wave. He has been known to be able to call at least five waves.
He only calls off an attack before reaching his goals (that is, killing large portions of its inhabitants—the goal for Darwin was 80% dead) if defenders manage to harm him enough to force a retreat. For instance, he interrupted an attack in Russia after the Iron Hag defeated him; in Darwin, it took the combined efforts of the Overwatch Defense Force, Unverziehen, Dr. Diabolik and Eldritch—and he still killed most of them, although Eldritch managed to steal the scythe and cut off both his legs at the knee with it; it's unknown whether the scythe is an unique artifact or he can simply build a new one.
Afterwards, he was shown to be recovering in his hideout, planning a raid in Chicago.[1]
