Helsing/Abigail van Helsing, fourteen years old, freshman in Whitman Cottage. She's a devisor and avatar, from Boston, Massachusetts.

A member of the actual Van Helsing clan, Abigail spent her entire life learning how to fight the supernatural, planning on joining her families crusade to protect humanity. While her parents are scholars studying ancient texts, folklore, myths and grimoires, learning new wards, spells and methods to fight the supernatural, she is more interested in fighting them directly like her beloved Uncle Jerry.

At seven her uncle was killed trying to exorcise a spirit of fear, it only made her more determined to enter the fight.[1]

Appearance[1][]

Since gaining a spirit, she has foggy white eyes. She's muscular, with short brown hair.

She's driven to join her family in their crusade. Training from a young age in hand to hand combat, as well as fighting with spears, knives and pistols, she wants to protect people and follow in her Uncles footsteps.

This doesn't mean she'll attack anything supernatural. She has on her own initiative helped a ghost talk to its daughter allowing it to fade away peacefully. But she happily makes devises that allow people to stab and shoot ghosts and spirits.

Equipment[1][]

  • Sunglasses that allow her to see ghosts and spirits while they're invisible.
  • Gloves that allow her to touch spirits and ghosts.
  • Earbuds that let her hear spirits and ghosts.
  • Silver dagger that can hurt spirits and ghosts.
  • Bullets that can hurt spirits and ghosts. Very short range.
  • Leather princess coat with kevra lining, hidden pockets and a devise that can deter ghosts and spirits when activated.

Powers[1][]

Devisor 2, Avatar

Devisor power focusing on spirits and ghosts. She gained this power when she was thirteen and built her first set of goggles to see spirits and ghosts. Since then she supplied devises for her family and herself.

She gained a spirit in 2016 at fourteen, when her grandfather was dying.

The spirit is a new one, connected to her family. It's unknown how it formed or even how long it's been attached to the family. All its previous hosts were baseline and didn't gain any superpowers. They were simply more driven than before, able to make some leaps of logic that were rather surprising and became a little stronger and durable.

Helsing as an avatar, gained all of the spirits power, and it could drive her mad.

She has a library of knowledge about the supernatural in her head. If she doesn't hold it back through concentration, meditating and tiring herself out through exercise, she'll start uncontrollably spouting facts until she's drugged or knocked unconscious.

An unknown amount of time later Patrin came back and took a seat facing her. “Is she always this drugged, or is this a special occasion?” he asked.

“It was the only way to calm her down. In between screaming for the thoughts to stop, she was spouting half finished sentences ranging from protective herbs, to werewolf anatomy and Buddhist exorcism, to the precise details of how to make a 9th century Norse rune of warding,” Father James said.

The spirit has also dramatically increased her strength.

Going to the chin up bars, she jumped up catching it with one hand. She began to lift herself up, keeping her one hand by her side. She'd never been able to do a one handed chin up until a week ago. Now they were easy. She did twenty-five of them in just over a minute, then switched arms to do another twenty-five. Dropping down she did some brief stretches, then started doing one arm push-ups. She would do it until it hurt and she was exhausted. It was the best way to keep the thoughts out of her head.
