Karkadann [1](Avsel Goran) is a refuge from a Daesh attack that destroyed her village in Kurdistan. She arrived in a refuge camp, 800 km from her home, in a two day dash that nobody could explain. She was moved from the refuge camp to the US by Ms. Chibani, a mysterious person who apparently works for the CIA.[2]

At the beginning of the 2016 fall term, she is a freshman student in Whitman Cottage, class of 2020.[3]

Her distinguishing features are her golden irises, a bony protuberance on her forehead and a head scarf that she tries to wear at all times when outside. The head scarf is because she is Muslim. She's occasionally seen as a girl wearing a head-scarf and running somewhere.[2]

She is an Avatar of al-Karkadann[1], who says: "I am the Sunset Wind! I am the Courier of the Desert Sands, Knight of the Court of Fire, known in this day and age as al-Karkadann!"[2]

She's in the English Language Learners class with Kenshin.

She first appears in a speaking role in Myriad Meetings, where she is introduced to Tanya. In Dorms of Our Lives, Season 4, Part 6, she is on a not-date with Daniel "Donut" Diggins and his pup Cookie, apparently at the prompting of her dorm-sisters who think she needs to learn to deal with people better.
