After a "slip and trip" accident at breakfast, Benjamin finally gets to Hawthorne Cottage, mostly in one piece or so, to serve his assigned detention. Someone really, really doesn't like unicorns, whether they eat virgins or not. Some of the entities in the Hawthorne sub-basement bathrooms may now qualify for the "Needs Counseling Because They've Met Belfry" Club.
Part 5[]
2017-01-16[]
- Puckwidget tries tripping Benjamin again. That goes significantly less well for a wide awake manifestor.
- The Assistant Headmaster meets with Tabby Cat regarding her Saturday morning problem. Hell, yes. Benjamin's employer has lawyers. No, he is not wanted in Hawthorne Cottage for good reasons.
- Benjamin has an appointment with his headshrinker. Thulia loses a bet.
- Benjamin and Dr. Delacroix get an evening dry run in the Combat Simulators. Chief Everheart, Colombine, and Belvedere are on standby for that.

- Puck tries to make right for his idiocy. First, he learns that Benjamin's not the most trusting person. Then Mrs. Tolliver subtly breaks the news that Benjamin is a survivor of abuse.
2017-01-21[]

- The Elemental Dance Club has an afternoon try-out. Benjamin puts his road on the show.
2017-01-22[]

- Lab E (Exemplar): Benjamin manages to get knocked out by a basketball and a treadmill.
- Lab D (The Gauntlet): A "live fire" obstacle course with turrets and lasers. Can you say "Daleks"?
- Lab E: Bella Horton confirms Benjamin has zero magical aptitude (Null result).
- Advanced Materials Lab: Dr. Aranis and Mrs. Metal put Belfry through his paces without blowing up the school.
- And, it appears that minimum distance/contact manifestors have even more horrible ways to die than just MATD or CTA.
