It's blatantly implied that he / she shifts when sexually excited, through a euphemistic "excited" from Tiff Lock, with the form chosen depends on the people around them at the time.[2]. They may be heterosexual based on form, or bisexual, as they have reported shifting to male when bumping into one as a female, and vice versa[5], with the implication that the person bumped into, was the source of their "excitement".
Their female form can appear as "a very attractive brunette".[6]
