I think it's arguable that "Flying 1" (mentioned in Jade 2) IS the same as "Flight I". Yes, there's a mention there that it's "usually a sophomore class", which might contradict Tennyo being on it. But then, there are two things to note: 1) the word "usually", and 2) the fact that in early stories, Tennyo was SUPPOSED to be a soph, before the authors changed their minds. --Sir Lee 19:45, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed, I also think they are the same class. I didn't even consider the possibility they might not before. The titles are to similar to be different classes and If they were one should be a prerequisite for the other and that would have given Ms. Larson an even better reason to refuse. And the other students in Flight I are either sophomores or could plausibly be sophomores for all we know. Addiab 22:03, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

I just looked, and the only sophomores amongst the students in Flight I are Lily and two of the Stratosphere Siblings, and she got snagged as a TA her first class session so she's not really taking it anymore. The other students are either Class Unknown (the majority) or Class of 2010. Nathan and Thomas of the Stratosphere Siblings are sophomores, but its also made clear in 'Legacy of Friendship' they were held back from taking it so they would take it with their sister, otherwise they'd have taken it their freshman year. And Tennyo didn't seek the course out, it was actively pushed on her as something she should be taking as a flier, as soon as possible, hence the added sections and preference given to fliers over non-fliers. So I see a definite push toward taking it as soon as possible in one's career at Whateley, opposed by Flying 1's being hawked as a sophomore class. Flight as a technician thing, the nuts and bolts of FAA Flight, what's required to make you legal, while Flying 1 is the Art of Flying, fine tuning your abilities now that the legal requirements have been met.
