Re category: Great Britain...

I'm going to be all pedantic here and point it out. Selkie is Irish, there's some evidence to that -- but, if you want to be all technical about it, Ireland (either Eire or Northern Ireland) is *not* part of Great Britain, AFAIK. "Great Britain" means the main island; Ireland is a separate island. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom; Eire is part of the British Isles. Sir Lee 03:48, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Class[]

In the end of first chapter of Gong Hai Fat Choy, Chou refers to Selkie as a freshman she had never met before. That would place Selkie straight into the Class of 2010. The problem is that, with both of them being Poe freshmen, it's a bit of a stretch to believe Chou had never met her. It might be a mistake on Chou's part -- she assumed Selkie was there to take the test, and therefore had to be a freshman like everybody else, but in fact Selkie is an upperclassman (sophomore?) who was there strictly as a lifeguard.Sir Lee 19:29, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately she's not on hand when Susan Corbin is discussed, so we don't get her reaction to that name, which narrowed down the class for a number of other Lit Chix. I agree that it is unlikely she'd be a Poe freshman whom Chou hadn't met; what, she doesn't take showers in the morning? There just aren't that many freshmen in Poe. The fun thing is that Selkie is Heather's Lit Chick, if anyone should know her grade it would be Heather; should we ask? JohnBobMead 21:39, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

In The Secret of the Forger's List, Part 2, she's said to be younger than Loophole. And the way its phrased makes it sound like not just a month or so younger, but younger younger. So... I guess she doesn't shower at the same time as Chou, and has otherwise kept off her radar. Given she hangs with the Lit Chix, she's not Poecentric in her behaviours. Accepting her as a freshman, she's either lesbian or so bi it's a problem for her, since she's not TG. And we know she hasn't had any classes with Chou. So somehow they've never passed in the halls of Poe; unlikely, but it looks to be the case. And bear in mind that Chou spends lots of her time away from Poe, with Molly... so both of them have minimal Poe time, Chou gets up early to do Tai Chi and then hangs out elsewhere bunches. And Chou wasn't there when everyone moved in at the beginning of the year. Now, if it had been Ayla who didn't know her... JohnBobMead 22:21, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

Chou is an unreliable narrator, she met Selkie when Rev. Englund set up that pick-up team for the sims. Both stories by Heather, so Chou's just being a ditz. JohnBobMead 22:38, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
