The Thorson family is headed by Robert “Big Bob” Thorson, largest owner of the “Big Bob’s Burgers” chain of family restaurants.

“Big Bob” Thorson is an Humanity First! member, among other things. He was very unhappy when his son Larry turned into Laura (Cerulea). He spread his unhappiness around enough that his wife divorced him, taking his daughter with her.

Laura’s mother. We don’t have a name yet; it’s probably lying around somewhere hiding. She took her maiden name, Samuels, when she divorced Big Bob.

The third son, Larry, who has never lived up to Big Bob’s expectations. Larry turned into Laura, possibly as the result of an experimental enhancement serum created by Hilde Stauffer. Hilde tends to kidnap teenage girls off the street for her experiments, which have a low probability of succeeding.
Since Laura’s mother took her maiden name back, Laura is Laura Samuels, not Laura Thorson.
